I will revert one day here and repeat what I previously posted on my tour blog for June 1st so that June is a complete month ☺
Monday, June 1st.
Tour was over, and also my extra days in Paris spent with my friends, now it was time to head home. I rose very early 4am. I had also gone to bed very late and had difficulty sleeping. I had scheduled a taxi to airport at 5am, as flight time was at 7am, and it was about a 40 minute ride to the airport... longer if I had needed to go later, during morning rush hour. At least at this time of the morning, the streets were relatively calm, until we neared the airport... I guess everyone had the same idea, to get there early.
Anyway, my flight was on time, and then I had a plane change in Rome and arrived back in Bari at 11am. From the airport, I caught the train to the station, and then from the station, caught the #2 bus to a stop very near my apartment, arriving home about 12:00 noon. Planes, trains and buses all in one day. As soon as I put my bags down in my apartment and used the bathroom, I headed immediately to market to get a few things to eat for next couple of days. I never keep very much in the house to eat anyway, because it is so easy to get fresh daily, however, when I plan to be away for any length of time, I always empty the fridge, so there was nothing in the house to eat.
Was so good to be back in Bari and the beautiful sea here
Tuesday, June 2nd.
During my travels, I would withdraw cash, always what I hoped would be just enough, but not too much, as I didn't want to lose it or have it stolen. Anyway, I made out very close... when I arrived home in Bari, I had exactly €12.44. That was cutting it close.
After the market was back to the apartment where I ate a small bite, then was so tired I laid down and slept until about 6pm, got up for a few hours, then back to bed.
Very tired last night, but had a great sleep and didn't get up until 9am. Have not left the apartment today... just wanted to do paperwork and picture sorting and stay very calm... my body says exhaustion and I'm listening ☺
Back in Bari and this will be a busy month. I need to start looking for another apartment, as my contract is up on this one the first of August and I have to be out by then. (They only rent for maximum of one year). I have to have a signed contract for another apartment by July 1st, so I can apply my Permesso renewal.
However, today I am so exhausted, it is going to be an 'in house' day doing bookwork, sorting photos and in general getting caught up, as well as taking a nap when I feel like it ☺ Worked most of the day on my blog. This is going to take a while. By now, some of you have probably already read or tried to read them... they are looonnnggg!

Wednesday, June 3rd.
Up and at it this morning (however, not too early), feeling rested and off to Caputo's this afternoon. Left a little early and dropped off at Luigi's Lab to say hello to he and Teresa, however, as I arrived, he was just getting in the car to run an errand, so I rode with him, and thought I would say hello to Teresa when we came back, however, we were close to Nicola's then and he just dropped me off for meeting. (He is not able to come on Wednesdays, he goes on Thursdays instead. Most of the time I go to that one as well, however, this week, I did not plan to go, so thought I would just stop and say hello, since I had been gone for a month and would not see he or Teresa on Thursday either).
Great evening at church. Wonderful to be back and to see Maria and Freda and all my Bari friends again. Aurora and Roberto came in and gave me a big hug and that made my heart sing... 'grandchildren' I sure miss them, but having A & R sure helps fill that gap. I had brought back French Perfume samples for the ladies and bookmarks for the guys and a trinket for the kids. Nothing much, just to let them know I thought of them while I was away.

Did not take the bus home this evening as Tonia and Giacinto was coming my way so I rode with them, then got out a few blocks from my house, so I could take a walk along the sea on this beautiful evening. This is probably the most beautiful promenade I've ever seen (not that I've seen that many, but a few) and I hope I can find another apartment close to where I am now, so I can continue to enjoy my evenings on the sea (and days too, especially the beach being so close.)

Not much today, except spent a lot of time working on my blog. Took a walk, then in the evening did a couple loads of laundry. I had done all my laundry in Paris just before I left, so was nice to not have piles of laundry to do when I returned home.
Friday, June 5th
Best get to the market this morning and get some veggies and fruit. Haven't had much to eat since I returned home... still felt full from all the things we ate on the tour.
Back home with the groceries.... that should build some muscles... those bags were heavy! Beautiful ripe cantaloupe was the reward though! Yummy! Then out for a nice long sea walk and of course studying my Italian for Sunday. I find it easier to think while I am walking than any other time.
Rest of the day spent blogging about my tour. Already, I am forgetting so many things that I should have taken notes of while we were touring, but it became such a chore, since we were constantly on the move.

My second daughter, Heather's 40th birthday today. My how the years have flown! Doesn't seem possible. Now I am officially old ☺

I get to wear the new dress I purchased in Venice! I love it! So did all the ladies at church this morning. I had seen this similar outfit when I was in Venice last October, and made myself a promise to buy it next time I came, IF I had lost enough weight. Well, I bought it. Also another top which I really like that is white.
Nice to have a ride to church this morning. Thank you Luigi. Freda and Maria were also in town today, so we all stayed at Caputo's for lunch. Last time I was here for lunch was a month ago, so Mariella wanted me to make the garlic/onion fried potatoes and everyone enjoyed them again, except Cristina (they used to be her favorite). She says with this pregnancy she has lost her appetite for meat and potatoes and cannot even eat them, because they gag her. Mariella prepared oxtail in tomato sauce and salad and all the usual things we have on Sunday dinner. Also, had fresh watermelon and it was very good. Marco helped prepare most of the lunch today. Felt good to be back in the 'kitchen' and having lunch with everyone today... like coming 'home' to family. Missed Daniele and his mom Annarita. Also, Caterina and her husband are now off on a cruise, and Pena and Giuseppe were ill, so a few missing today.

Olives. This is the last of them from last year. Sure hope Nicola's trees bear good fruit this summer. He got most of them pruned, so should....
Oxtail for lunch
He does not have any rentals available for me, but gave me some good information and also said he would help me to make sure I get treated fairly and that the property is what it should be, and that I get a valid contract. I really appreciate this! He has become such a good friend.
Had two things happen this evening that I've never seen before, or at least never paid attention to before and didn't understand them until tonight when Damiano 'enlightened' me. The first was when he parked his car, there was a man just standing there, and when Damiano stepped out of the car the man greeted him. I really didn't know why the man was just standing there, but just thought perhaps he was passing by. However, after Damiano got out and locked his car, he handed the man a $2 coin. I said to Damiano, "What just happened there?" At first, he just kind of shrugged his shoulders, then I was more specific and said why did you give him money? This is a public parking lot, and he didn't have a uniform or anything, who was he? Damiano, being the community minded person he his, really didn't want to tell me, then he did.
He said if you don't pay them, you will come back and your car will be damaged! The man hadn't said anything, didn't look real mean or anything, however, Damiano, said that is just how things work here. He said sometimes they will even direct you into the parking space, etc., and you better 'tip' them; they are not just being nice. After he told me that, I looked around and saw two or three other men in the parking lot also, doing the same thing. Just waiting for someone to park and standing there waiting to be 'paid'. They were all silent... just an understood thing here, that actually made it more eerie to me, since I would have just said and 'buona sera' and walked away.
The other thing was after we had eaten, and were walking back through the area where there is no traffic, and where all the outdoor tables are and hundreds of people all eating, walking around and
After being here a year, this was the first time I really saw this and now, not just once, but two times in one night, that I got to see the Mafia at work. Everyone keeps telling me about them, and I keep seeing the results of their influence, like trash not getting picked up, roads not getting fixed, business owners taxes going higher and higher, etc., but first time I got to experience first hand just what the night brings out. Also, I was oblivious before, just thinking it was 'crazy' kids, or strange people, but now I know! And the man who enlightened me should know, since he has lived here his whole life.

Got very serious about looking for a new place to rent today. Spent most of my day doing that on line, emailing and calling, now tomorrow and the rest of the week, hopefully I can go see a few and with any luck, find something without too much hassle.
Was so busy with this today, and then started working on my blog again, that about 7pm I realized I hadn't eaten all day, so stopped and made a bite, then took out the garbage and a long evening walk along the sea. Grrr... the most beautiful sky, the lighting was just right, the sea perfectly calm and reflecting, and a cruise ship all its lights blazing leaving but still so close I could have gotten an awesome picture... and I did not have my camera with me!!! I rarely leave the apartment without it, but was taking the garbage out and since my hands were full, I didn't take it.
Now off to sleepy town for me.

Spent most of the day on the computer sending emails to make appointments to look at apartments. Another beautiful walk along the sea. There are no more places to rent where I will be in this same location and it is making me sad to think I may have to leave this beautiful area. I did find a couple of other apartments at the far end of Lungomare, and it is still beautiful to be able to walk along the sea, but is not lighted and 'fixed up' like the area where I am now living.

Now up early, as it is time to keep all the appointments I set up yesterday. After about the 5th one, I finally found 'almost' what I was looking for. It is one of the ones on the north end of Lungomare. This would mean I would need to buy a car, as I would not have easy access to the buses and train station like I do now. Also not near the shops :( All things to consider in looking for another apartment.
I will keep looking for a few more days before I make a decision.... hopefully the perfect one will come along....
The last one I saw today was near Luigi's lab, so after I finished there, I walked to the lab and visited with he and Teresa, then he took me to Nicola's for church tonight. Marco brought me home. I would have taken the bus, like I usually do, however, I had had enough walking for one day :)

Another busy day with viewing apartments. The last one I saw today was again at the North end of Lungomare. This is a very wearying process, but getting to see lots of different ones :)
Damiano (apartment manager) called me last evening... he sounded frustrated that the owners would not work with him. I had asked if perhaps I could stay on a month to month beyond my contract for another two months. Damiano asked the owners but they have been really difficult for him to work with. He told me he may stop managing their apartments, they just are not very flexible about anything!

Anyway, on my walk home today, this building was open and I have been wanting to see inside every since I started walking by it almost a year ago, but it was always closed. It was open today so I finally had an opportunity to see it. Beautiful! All these old buildings built during Mussolini's time in the area where I live are very beautiful.

And again today, more apartment looking. This morning I saw a really nice location and would love to have it, however, it is certainly priced out of my range. Was very very nice though :) Had a view of the sea and the Centro shopping! I liked it a lot :)

At 3:30 I had a dentist appointment. Now a few more appointments, as I need to get x-rays (dentists do not do their own here), then make another appointment with the dentist to get my tooth fixed. Everything is 'specialized' here. No one can cross over and do another type of work. Just like Luigi makes Dentures, however, he is not allowed to meet directly with the patients... only their Dentist can do that.
This Dentist I went to today is a young man and speaks very limited English, however, was very nice and friendly. Luigi set up the appointment for me, which I really appreciated!
These days keep my mind and body tired... haven't worked on my blog like I should, as I just feel too weary at the end of the day, and now I am going up and down the stairs multiple times doing my laundry at 11 pm... won't be dry until who knows what time. Someone already had their things in the washer when I went a few minutes before 7 (The apartment owners will not let us use it until 7pm). I will really be glad to have my own washing machine so I can do laundry anytime of the day. 11 pm is just not ideal. So now, back to working on my #2 Tour post while I wait for the laundry. Only doing one load tonight.

Everything is 'specialized' here. No one can cross over and do another type of work. Up very early to try to and get the rest of my laundry done (Saturday is the only 'day' we can wash, otherwise has to be at night, so I wanted to get my sheets in early. Then I cleaned the apartment, made cucumber refrigerator pickles, went to see an apartment at 10:30 (just down the street this time, thank goodness), went to the market, up and down the stairs minimum 26 times today, between checking on the laundry, and leaving the building so many times.
Made a big salad for lunch/dinner and then worked on the computer and my blog for a few hours. A short walk along the sea, now already it is 10pm and I need to get to bed since I have to catch the bus in the morning to Caputo's (meaning be there earlier than if Luigi picked me up).

Up early and off I went. Wonderful day spent with Freda, Maria, and Caputo's. Took the bus home arriving about 8pm.
I usually take the #19 bus to the Train Station and then catch the #2 to the stop about 2 blocks from my apartment. Sometimes I have to wait for the #2 bus, and it is faster for me to just walk home from the station. Last week, the #2 arrived just as #19 (which I was on) pulled into the station, so I quickly ran across the parking lot and the driver window was open, so I asked if I could get on just as he was about to pull away. He was nice and waited for me... whew that night I just made it.
Tonight, however, as we were coming through town on the #19, the #2 was in front of us stopping at all the same stops. I knew I would never catch the #2 at the station, since it was in front of us and only does a stop there, whereas, #19 terminates there. Anyway, I watched as it stopped a couple times in front of us and waited until just the right time, when there would be a lot of people getting on or off and also when #19 would be stopped. Anyway, I managed to time it just right, and jumped off and raced up to the #2 and hopped on just as it was closing it's doors and taking off. When we arrived at the station, I looked back as we were driving away, and sure enough #19 was just pulling in, so I would have missed the #2. Glad I hopped off/on when I did ☺
I usually don't mind walking the 20 minutes home, however today was scorching hot. 32C today which is 90 F, and the humidity was high. The sea breeze helped, but too hot to be walking anymore today. I had walked from Caputo's to Mafalda's then from Mafalda's to the bus... that was enough. When I arrived at my apartment, I turned on the A/C and climbed in the shower for a cold shower first thing. Feel great now.
Freda told me today about an apartment above them that is for rent. I will go check it out on Wed. perhaps. Tomorrow, I need to get my teeth x-rayed, and Tuesday, I go to Mola di Bari to check out a place there. While I am down there, I plan to spend the day and check out the town.

Nice relaxing morning, then off to get the x-rays of my teeth. After that, I continued and walked up Dante to the bach of Freda and Maria. Had something to deliver to Freda. When I arrived Maria was making lunch, so she asked me to stay for that, which I did. Arrived back home about 3pm, now going to take a nap... ah, the life of being retired! Love it!

Up early and off to the train station to go to Mola di Bari. Mola is about 20 minute train ride south of Bari. There was a nice apartment there for rent that I wanted to check out. As I arrived in Mola, I could right away tell that I liked the feel of this smaller town, and my biggest concern was leaving my beautiful 'Lungomare' promenade. My daily walk along the sea here in Bari. Was I ever glad to see another beautiful promenade along the sea in Mola. It was palm tree lined, whereas the one in Bari here has lights.
Mola is a much more sedate, and calmer city than Bari. The apartment I looked at there is right on the sea and has two bedrooms and balconies overlooking the sea, a terrace on top that is wonderful and I would be the only tenant in this building!! Like having my own personal home! There is an apartment below me, however, it is someone's summer home and they only come once in a while. The apartment is not new like the one I am currently living in here in Bari, however, all in all, it really is perfect for me! Anyway, I am, as I write this, trying to get a contract signed and sealed ! I won't actually be able to take possession until October 1st, and I have to be out of my current residence on August 1st (or perhaps Aug. 31st, if I can get an extension), so will need to find another solution for one or two months. Since August is busy with conventions, and I will be away most of that time anyway, really only September will I really need a place to park my hat.
There is an apartment here in Bari that is almost right for me, and the owner really wants me to rent it, however, it is a little expensive and I don't have the views or as much room as the one in Mola. If I am unable to get the one in Mola however, I will most likely take this one.
After spending the day in Mola di Bari, walking around the city and checking everything out to make sure it would work for me, I caught the train back to Bari and then caught another train over to the Ikea store. I needed to purchase some storage containers, especially now, that I will need to pack up a few things for moving. As I was returning on the train from Ikea, just as I exited the train, there was Freda and Maria ready to catch the next train to Capurso to go to Pena's for a bible study. I had been going with them on a regular basis until I left for my 'around Europe' trip, but this day, I was very tired and also had a large bag of 'goodies' I needed to take back to my home. One would think that as close as things are here, you could just pop in and out of places and go home and return, but when one is dependent on trains and buses, there is always the need to arrive early, then wait, then walk, then catch another bus/train. All of this takes lots of time.
Anyway, by the time I arrived back at my apartment, I had been up early, gone all day and felt like I really needed a nap. I just sat my bag down as I entered my apartment, curled up on the sofa and went to sleep. About 6pm the neighbor, a young man age 31, came knocking on my door wanting to visit. I was not really prepared for guests, but no matter, just step around my big bag of goodies and come on in. We had a very nice visit for about an hour. We had been wanting to visit for some time, as he is very interested in going to America someday soon, but had never been able to make it happen... just short visits in the laundry or hallway from time to time. He is such a nice young man (tall and very handsome too... smile. Many of the men here in Italy are short, so nice to see someone taller than me!) and as he has started studying the bible in the last six months, we talked a lot about that. His name is Flaviano.
After he walked across the hall back to his own apartment, I made a bite to eat, unpacked my bag of things from Ikea, then did some translation and studying for the church for Wednesday, then prepared to go to bed, as I was still feeling very tired.

More looking at apartment appointments today. Even though I feel like I found the perfect place for me, I don't have a signed contract, so will continue to look until I do, just in case...
It rained in the night and has continued to rain off and on all day. I spent the morning washing all my new containers and sorting through and making use of them. Also, this is the day the cleaning lady comes. Even though, she only cleans the outside deck, it always takes a bit of time, as we usually end up visiting for a while.
In the afternoon, about 2pm, after lunch, I was feeling like I really needed a nap, so thought I would lie down for about 30 minutes. The next thing I knew my phone was ringing and it was the agent who was waiting for me at the apartment I was to view at 4pm!!! Ooops!! I had no idea I had slept so long! Anyway, it would have taken me more than an hour to get to the bus and get there, in addition it was raining quite hard, so I had to cancel for the day. I felt really bad, since he had made the effort to go there, and also the lady of the home had to prepare for me to come. I made another appointment for Friday. Now I must hurry and get around or I will also miss church this evening!

Thursday, June 18th.
Still raining. I love it when it rains. Glad for many sunny days, but the rain gives me a break... makes me feel like I can be lazy without feeling guilty ☺ I really needed to get back to my blog posts from my recent tour, so spent a couple hours working on that. Around 1pm, Flaviano came over and joined me for a bowl of soup (he brought the bread). We had another great visit. After a couple hours, when he left, I took another nap. This nap business is getting to be a habit!!! I am thoroughly embracing this part of Italian culture!!

Then I get a message from Freda, just checking in... she knows I am very busy right now. Will be nice to get back to 'normal' again, as I didn't go to Modugno with them this evening like I had been doing before my Europe tour. Will be nice to finally get moved and settled again and back in a routine. Looking forward to July and August with preps and conventions coming soon!

After my nap, I spent several hours working on my blog. This blogging business, is great when I do it on a daily basis, however, when I am playing 'catch-up', it takes way too much time!
In addition, Juanita, Trevor's sister from Canada, has been trying to make plans to come visit here in Italy. We decided to make it a cruise for next summer, so between apartment hunting, doing some American banking via skype and making cruise arrangements and coordinating all this via Canada, I felt like my 'plate was full' for a few days! Anyway, it is all sorted out now and looking so forward to next summer and company!
Then I get a message from Freda, just checking in... she knows I am very busy right now. Friday, June 19th.
Up early to view a previously viewed apartment (the one I missed on Wed). The lady really would like me to rent from her, and her apartment is so beautifully furnished, however, it is a bit smaller than I was hoping and a bit expensive. Other than that, and the lack of a view of the sea, it would be ideal! After speaking with her today, she said she would be willing to negotiate on the price...so we will see...
Anyway, I headed to the bus at 8:30 this morning. After my appointment there, I walked the few blocks to the Lab of Luigi and Teresa (picked up some fresh figs along the way to take and share with them) and visited there for only a few minutes, then caught the bus back to my apartment, arriving at 12:20. Only this, and it took me just short of four hours to do what would have been a 10 minute drive each way, then a few minutes to take care of 'business' and stop at the lab, which would normally be a maximum 1 to 1.5 hour day has now turned into a 4 hour day. This is just the way it is when you use public transportation and walking. So even when it sounds simple, it really is a very long process here.
Now, I have had a bowl of the leftover soup I prepared yesterday and am ready for a nap :) snooze time!... Well just after I finish the wonderful fresh fig! Figs are ripe and I am loving them. They are a wonderful fresh fruit.

Carissa skyped me at about 11pm and that perked me up a little bit, so continued to blog long past that. Anyway, got the second installment posted and that felt good, however, I know there were errors in it, but will correct those tomorrow.

Saturday, June 20th.
Late rise this morning felt good, then after a bite to eat and a few things done around the apartment, back to 'fixing' the blog I posted yesterday. There were a few errors, and a few additional comments I added, but was glad it was only minor things. It was so late when I finished it yesterday, that I could no longer see the mistakes... figured 'fresh' eyes would help this morning.
Now a few more things I want to accomplish today, then more blogging. I really want to get this done!
Out for my walk this afternoon, I just had to take pictures of the street where I have lived for almost a year now and where I walk on my daily routine. Going to miss this, so sure hope whereever I find another apartment, it will be just as 'welcoming'.

About an hour after I returned from my walk, I am sitting here listening to big thunder... looks like a storm as rolled in. That will be three times this week.
Did my usual chores today, and sent another email to the the lady in Mola di Bari where I am trying to rent. Her response was not favorable, however, she needed to check with someone and would reply to me on Monday. I need a signed, seal and delivered contract for an apartment before I can apply for my Permesso renewal. She only wants to give me a preliminary until September, at which time she would provide the full contract. This would not work for me, however, and as much as I really would like to rent that particular apartment, it will not be possible without a fully completed contract by the time I reapply for my Permesso in July. Anyway, will see what Monday brings.

I was so sad today, I had to miss church. I have a bad tooth, and have an appointment scheduled for Tuesday, however, I awoke this morning with a high fever... I think I may have an infection in it. So I rested and then worked on my blog most of the day. :(
Monday, June 22nd.
I don't have a fever this morning, however, did sleep rather late this morning, so suppose the rest helped me to feel better. Anyway, I felt much better today, however, still didn't want to push it too much, so again, stayed inside and worked on my blog most of the day, only going out for a short walk. :(
Also, heard from the apartment lady in Mola. She says she cannot provide the contract until September. So, I will go with my second pick of apartments and have sent them a note today. Now I will wait to hear back on this second one. Apartment hunting is not a very easy thing here, in case anybody has observed, especially with my particular requirements.

Looking forward to getting this tooth fixed!! My appointment with the dentist isn't until 6:30. Crazy hours they work here! They sleep in the day and work in the evenings!
Up a bit later than I would have liked, however, listening to my body... when it needs rest, being retired allows me to do just that! ☺ Continued to work on my blog. Working on the Italy posts now, and will I ever be glad to be finished with all the blog postings from my tour. It is a bit of a 'job', especially, now that I am busy apartment hunting etc.
Okay, went to the dentist at 6:30, and after waiting there for about 15 minutes, who walked in but Luigi. Anyway, since he works with this dentist (makes dentures and implants for him), he had stopped in to pick up some things. As it turned out, 'we' needed him! The Dentist did not speak much English and I speak less Italian, so Luigi got to translate, then as we were discussing just exactly what should be done with my tooth (teeth, as it turned out), the dentist just left the room and let Luigi take over ☺ Anyway, Luigi made a full set of impressions to take with him and try to figure out what is the best approach to fixing my molar. So currently, my tooth is not fixed. Will have to wait an see...
After arriving home, decided to go across the street and pick up some focaccia... hadn't been over there for awhile. They supposedly make some of the best in Bari... anyway, it is very good, but I haven't tried very many other places. Just glad that it is good, since it is so close to my apartment and so convenient.
Wednesday, June 24th.
My usual today. Cleaning lady came, I worked on my tour blog posts, then got ready in the afternoon and headed to Caputo's for church. After I caught the bus, it started raining, so I phoned ahead and Mariella came and picked me up at the stop, so I wouldn't get wet. Marco brought me home after, as well as Maria and Freda. Was nice to see Alexandria tonight, she is here visiting her sister while her husband is out of the country for his work.
When I returned home, the lady had responded regarding the other apartment (red cabinets) and had already rented it, so now I am back to square one. I have appointments set up for the rest of the week to keep looking. This is not an easy process here, let me tell you.
Thursday, June 25th.
Off to view another apartment. It was fabulous, except... always an except! It had a terrible kitchen and bath. The view and the living space was spectacular and the location was perfect however. The price was a little high though for the condition of the kitchen/bath. The realtor says he has a couple more to show me on Saturday... so
After this, I went to the Poste and picked up my Renewal kit for my Permesso. Then Liliana phoned and we decided to meet for lunch. In the meantime, however, I have wanted to have a sweet and coffee at this particular cafe every since I've lived here, but never have, so since it was a couple hours until lunch, I decided it was the perfect time. I would go to the post office, then just stay in town, and wait for lunch time with Liliana. It worked out perfect.
A very popular, well known coffee shop... very high end! and the prices are too high... $1.50 for a cup of coffee... all 2 tablespoons of it and no refills ! :0 Perhaps that is why I never went here before :)
Liliana and I met at 1:30ish at Spops. Great lunch and it is close to her work. Also, they have a fruit shop in here as well as dried fruit. Nice place to hang out, they serve organic foods! My kind of restaurant!

On my walk back home, I saw my first lawnmower since I came a year ago. It felt quite strange to hear that sound again and made me a bit nostalgic.
Continued my walk home along the sea, my favorite place to walk... only said that about 500 times☺
After I arrived home, worked on my blog and a few things. Concentrating on this and finding a place to live, for now.
Friday, June 26th.
Spent most of the day, doing what I've been doing everyday... working on my blog, among a few other minor things, then at 6pm, I walked about half hour each way to meet up with the realtor to view another apartment. It was nice, but not a very good location.... wrong side of the tracks☺ Also did not have A/C, and that is a must for me. Also had communal heat, nothing I could control, and I would freeze in the winter for sure!
Last year, everyone kept their houses here so cold, I wore a coat inside!! Never took it off. In my own apartment, they thought something was wrong with the furnace, because they had never had anyone use that much electricity before☺ I am cold in winter and hot in summer, so I use the unit almost year round.
Tomorrow I have one or two more apts to view... we'll see
Stopped at a couple stores on the way home and purchased a few supplies, then I picked up some prawns tonight and made fajitas for dinner. Oh, they were good! Enough left for tomorrow and probably the next day as well!

Up and at it, as I have an appointment at 10:30 to view another apartment. About half hour walk for me. Yes, you probably want to ask why don't I ride the bus. Well, by the time I wait for it and sometimes it is late, I usually can walk there by the time it arrives. Sunday, June 28th
Grrr. I had a hard time getting to sleep last night, slept very poorly when I did, sort of a shallow sleep, then woke up at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep, so it is going to be a long day.
The usual bus to Caputo's for church. Alexandria was still with Cristina this morning, but will leave in the early afternoon. The lack of sleep was really affecting my head, and I felt very 'fuzzy' unable to concentrate or think, so immediately after church about 11:30, I laid down and slept until lunch time (2pm). Felt much better after that. Liliana and Cristiano were there for lunch today also and after lunch, Liliana helped me with my Permesso paperwork. That I really appreciated!

The evening at Mafalda's, then tried to catch the earlier bus back into town, however, I never did figure out what happened with the buses, but 3 just never showed up. I waited for over 40 minutes before one arrived, so made it very late getting home this evening.
When I got home, I made a light supper and sat on the balcony and enjoyed a beautiful evening just looking out at the sea. However, didn't stay up much after that, as I still was feeling very sleep deprived, so was in bed by 9:30 and asleep.
Monday, June 29th.
Up early and feeling great this morning.
My this month went so quickly, and I am not going to meet any of my deadlines it doesn't look like! I have too many unfinished obligations! I do not like this feeling at all. Much time spent on the computer this morning, getting more documentation done. Now, I will have to wait for a reply for some of my documents before I can actually send in my Permesso renewal.
Also, I still do not have another apartment. Spoke to Damiano on Saturday evening and he says he has a place I might like, however, he had to go to Rome and will not be back until Thursday, so more waiting. So far today, I do not have any more leads on apartments to look at.
Now, since I have done all I can regarding my Permesso for today, will commit the rest of the day to getting this blog of my Tour finished and that will be one less thing to have to think about.
Tuesday, June 30th
Last day of the month. Where does the time go so quickly? Busy days and then, next thing I know the week is gone, and now the month is gone.
Looking at three more apartments... two today, one tomorrow, then meeting on Wed., a Chiro appointment on Thursday and get some documents signed and faxed, and then look at another apartment on Friday... already this week is full and there will be other things come along like they always do. Also, hoping to get an appointment with a doctor here this week to get a physical for my Medical Insurance.
I made the best lunch today. I made chicken and dressing! I haven't had any dressing since Thanksgiving 2013. Yummy, only missing the cranberries.
At three o'clock I walked about half an hour to see yet another apartment and then after that, we (realtor and I) walked together to see still another one, however, not furnished ones, so makes it difficult, since I don't want to purchase any furniture here. When I say unfurnished, that means there is absolutely nothing in the apartment; no toilet, no sinks, no stove, or appliances of any kind. Bare walls on four sides, no counter tops, cabinets... NOTHING, NIENTE, NADA!!
So all of June is gone, and I still do not have a place to move to. Also, still much unfinished regarding my requirements for my Permesso renewal paperwork... Sure don't like feeling this pressure. Will be glad when this is behind me and I can just get back to what was my regular routine, although, July will be a new routine anyway, with convention preps., etc. Must get all my obligations taken care of before then I hope!
Okay, all for this month's blog, however, still working on the last two posts from my tour, then I will be completely caught up! YEAH !

I wanted to wait until I had posted all my May Tour posts before I posted the June one, however, it is now middle of July before I finised with my Tour posts, so makes the June post very 'out of date'! Oh, well, you will see the most current information when I post July's at the end of the month. ☺ Ciao
